An open letter and recommendation to elderly and/or disabled home owners who must sell their homes ...

I am an 85-year-old with hearing, physical disabilities, and macular degeneration. I was forced to move into Assisted Living in late 2006. Confronted with selling my home of 39 years left me overwhelmed. By sheer luck I called Andy Maierhofer, who came to my room the next day.

Andy gave a complete overview of procedures and forms we would sign, up to and including final sale papers.

Andy put my house on the market, personally did all the leg work and kept me advised, almost daily, of progress being made. When the house sold [in 31 days for 99% of list price], approximately eighty pages of documents had to be [explained and] signed; not one document was incorrect, reflecting his thorough knowledge of the Realtor's role. Andy also made it possible for me to make all signatures in my own room with the money wired to my account. In short, he treated me like a son.

I am receiving no compensation for writing this recommendation. I want  home owners to know about this knowledgeable and compassionate man.
